Portrait of Thoth

Thoth is the ancient Egyptian god of writing, science, magic, measurement, and the moon. The ibis and baboon are sacred to him. When I was about 11 I dressed up as Thoth for Halloween, in a white robe and a large papier-mâché ibis-faced mask. When I went trick-or-treating no one knew who I was though.
This piece came together very easily for me. When I came across this magazine cover I knew exactly what I had to do.
