Flesh Worship

In this piece, I began with a theme in mind and I just raided all the ephemera I could find. Less of a theme perhaps, and more of a vague feeling that, through the act of gathering material and designing the piece becomes a theme. This technique of randomly gathering material that strikes me is a technique I really enjoy, though it's not as precise as going in with an image in mind that I want to recreate. I like how I can treat the placement with looseness and purpose at the same time.
The title of this piece was inspired by a line from the novel Toad by Katherine Dunn. An easy place to check out this book would be here.
